This piece is from the old NY Yankee Stadium Centerfield Scoreboard, used from 1976 to 2004. Although the original stadium closed in 2008, the Steiner sales sheet states 2004, which might be a misprint. The piece measures approximately 18" by 30" and is about 8 inches deep. The back is particularly fascinating, with connectors and wiring still intact.
It's believed that if connected to a power source, it would still function. There are 40 openings for bulbs, but not all are filled. Any standard bulbs can be used, but originally, small spotlight-type bulbs were originally used. Not all the bulbs are available. This piece was displayed on a custom bookcase shelf but would also look great in a nice frame.Silver sticker is affixed to the back section and is numbered. I understand that there are only 29 pieces like this, and this is number one as per what I see on the Hologram..
I have never seen other sections anywhere at any time. I was there when this was listed. Certain staff, customers as myself or Yankee players, got the first chance to obtain these items. It is a truly cool piece that is one of a kind. It was a highlight of visitors to home.
