All Original Straight Back 1923 New York Yankee Stadium Folding Seat - KT1. This listing is for 1 antique folding seat from New York. These cast steel and wood seats were first installed in 1923 and used until replaced in 1973. This example is from a private owner. The seat has 2 identical steel end frames, joined by six wooden slats in the seat and three spaced slats in the back.

(These older seats have straight backs; newer replacement seats have curved back slats). The seat has been painted many times over the years, and layers of green paint are visible under the peeling blue coat. S a black number 13 on the top slat; no other markings. While showing much use, the metal parts are strong and straight, the wood is sound under all the paint. The seats were cut apart rather unceremoniously, and the back slats are not even, but what a piece of history!

Dimensions: folded up, 31.5. Wide at the steel arms x 14. Deep from the arms to the back of the frame. Folding the seat down extends the depth to about 20. Weight: 35 lb 6 oz.
