On June 13, 1948, the Yankees retired Babe Ruth's jersey, the No. 3 in a game-day ceremony marking'Babe Ruth Day. Ruth was in attendance and this day marked the final appearance by the legendary baseball player at Yankee Stadium or, simply,'The House that Ruth Built.
