1979 Thurman Munson Final Game New York Yankees Stadium Program + Parking Ticket

  

Thurman Munson's final game at Yankee Stadium on July 24, 1979, program and parking pass/ticket. Yankees win 6-5, Munson going 0/2 with a walk in three trips to the plate before he was pulled for injury.

He would die in a plane crash on August 2, practicing landings in his personal aircraft at Akron-Canton Airport. This game was also the introduction of short-lived Yankees mascot "Dandy, " a large pinstriped bird that sported a Yankees hat, with a moustache that gave him an appearance similar to that of Thurman Munson. After only one series at Yankee Stadium, Dandy was put on hiatus after the tragedy.

He was seldom used after that, never again being seen (or even acknowledged by the Yankees) since 1981. Program is 8.25" x 11" and 58 pages. Ticket/pass is 5.5" x 3". Ticket/pass is in excellent condition; off-cut across the top edge with a small crease in the bottom right corner. First three innings have been neatly scored in pencil on the scorecard.
